To evoke a melancholic essence, I focused on minor chords as the main harmony. To add subtle surprises and keep things interesting, I wove in some borrowed chords. Finally, with syncopation and a few carefully chosen rhythmic touches, I brought in splashes of color - softening the frosty winter chill and adding a gentle, welcoming warmth.
